Whoopi Goldberg to Play Geddy Lee in New Biopic

Director Martin Scorsese announced that the Geddy Lee biopic, tentatively named :This Isn’t a Movie about Guineas or Micks: I Know! I’m Shocked Too”, will be released in Spring of 2021.
The legendary director admits to only being a fly by night fan of the group, but said he respects their artistry. The movie’s been in the works for several years but Scorsese couldn’t decide on the lead. He initially thought Caitlyn Jenner was a good choice based on her high-pitched voice and luscious locks, but changed his mind once he saw her ass in white jeans. “Maybe I could use her if I was making a movie about Steve Perry’s pancake ass in the ‘Wheel in the Sky’ video. But Geddy’s got a nice beefy braciole.” Scorsese first considered Joe Pesci, but when he realized Lee was Jewish, he decided Whoopi Goldberg was the only answer.
Lee joined Rush in 1968 and is best known as their vocalist, bassist, keyboardist, and songwriter. It took the band a few years to find their footing before they finally locked into their own distinctive progressive rock sound. Goldberg told reporters that she’s a huge fan. “I used to listen to them back when I was dating Ted Danson. ‘The Safety Dance’ was our go-to karaoke song. Man, what a unique sound they had. I’m gonna sing in the flick, but the clothing’s another story man. I draw the line at the vest and knickers! I ain’t doing that shit.”
Lee told the press he is thrilled and honored to have Goldberg play the part. “I loved her in 10 with Dudley Moore! I’m just flattered she even knows who I am.”
