Sting Struck By Lightning, Loses Eyebrows
English musician Sting aka Gordon Sumner was struck by lightning. The bad news is that he lost his eyebrows, but the good news is that he now glows in the dark and can speak Spanish. Sumner claims that this is the eighth time he has been hit by lightning in his lifetime.
If Sting’s claims are true and can be proven, he will hold the record for most lightning strikes survived. It will break the previous record of 7 strikes held by Park Ranger Ray Sullivan in the 1970s.
Storm Chaser
Sting is an avid storm chaser and was struck while attempting to get an up close and personal encounter with the recent hurricane. Video shows Sting attempting to stand and take a selfie in 150 mph winds. “There is nothing like standing directly in the eye of a hurricane” said Sting. “It is exhilarating.”
Sting told Madhouse News, “Most of my experiences with lightning have been positive. The first time I got hit was when I was 8 years old. It hurt a bit and my hair went on fire, but afterwards I could play the Bass and Piano. I would say that was a win.”
Sting continued, “The second time I got hit, I wrote Roxanne. Every time thereafter I wrote a hit song. So basically you can say I owe my career to lightning. I better get home and try to write a song. I haven’t had a hit in a long time. Let’s hope there is still a little magic left.”
Sting stated, I have been struck by lightning while fishing, golfing and twice while on stage. I lost a testicle, 2 toes and a lot of clothes and hats have been ruined. His wife Trudie Styler joked, “I was shocked when I heard he was struck by lightning again. Well, it sure saves on electric bills. Now that he glows in the dark, I use him as a night light. Why do you think he wrote Don’t Stand So Close To Me!”
