Steve Stevens Finds MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown Living in His Hair Since 1987
Billy Idol Guitarist Steve Stevens got the shock of his life today. He discovered former MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown living in his hair. Apparently she had been living there since the late 1980s.
Steve Stevens, born Steven Stevens in NYC has been the guitarist and songwriting partner of Billy Idol since 1981. The pair recorded six albums, performed 1300 live shows, snorted 300 pounds of cocaine and banged over 5000 groupies. Stevens is known for his incredibly high hair and his hair spray usage is single handedly to blame for the ozone layer depletion.
Here’s Your Problem
Stevens told Madhouse News, “I don’t know how the heck she got in my hair. I have been having headaches and neck aches lately so I went to the doctor and he said here’s your problem right here. He pulled Downtown Julie Brown out of my hair and said this MTV VJ in your hair is the root of your discomfort. I feel so much better now.”
Downtown Julie Brown born Julie Dorne Brown in England is a television personality, and former MTV VJ. Brown is best known as the host of the television music show Club MTV, which ran from 1987 until 1992. She was known for her catch phrase “Wubba Wubba Wubba” and she dated Billy Idol briefly.
After landing her iconic gig with MTV, Julie Brown found herself in a face-to-face interview with her celebrity crush Billy Idol. After the interview ended, Brown kept the casual conversation going. Idol, however, was quite direct in his responses. “I said to him, ‘What would you like to do?'” Brown remembers. “He said, ‘Well, you.’ He then said I remind him of a cigarette. That I am smoking and he can’t wait to have my butt in his mouth. Who could resist a line like that. We made mad passionate love on his motorcycle and spent the next few days together.”
Martha Quinn
Stevens continued “Yeah I remember when Julie and Billy had their fling. She wanted to marry him and he had already moved on to Martha Quinn. Julie was stalking us pretty heavy and wouldn’t take no for an answer. She showed up backstage at a gig in Philadelphia. I remember seeing her as we were boarding the bus after the show and then she was gone. My head was itching pretty bad. I thought it was head crabs from some skank. I bet that is when she crawled in my hair.”
