On my way to The Wellmont Theater in NJ, to see Snoop Dogg. I checked on line for directions and it said “Take the Garden State Parkway and then just follow the mushroom cloud of weed smoke.” They were right.
My man Snoop Dogg is the last of the OG’s! The coolest, chillest MF’er who just happens to make some of the greatest Rap music of all time. The man goes by many names: Snoop Doggy Dogg, Snoop Dogg, Snoop Lion, Doggfather, Godfather of Rap, DJ Snoopadelic, Snoopzilla, The Willie Nelson of Rap, Uncle Snoop, and Calvin. Whatever name he is going by, one thing is for sure, he is always the Baddest of the Bad.
What a cool night. Warren G, pole dancers, DJ’s and much love. Snoop grooved, danced and gave back the love he got from the crowd. Everyone loves Snoop. The Doggfather performed his Rap classics as well as some cool new jams off of his latest album, “I Wanna Thank Me”.
“I Wanna Thank Me” is pure Snoop. Old School yet fresh and new. I love this album, 5 Stars and 2 thumbs! Who else but Snoop could say “I Wanna Thank Me” and make it sound charming and funny.
“The Next Episode”, “Nothin But a G Thang”, “Doggy Style”, “P.I.M.P” and then after a ‘smoke break’, Snoop honored his fallen friends with some incredible tributes. Nipsey Hussle, Eazy-E, Tupac and Biggie were all honored by Snoop who covered each of their songs.
It was a beautiful night of classic Rap, lots of laughs, love and music. Snoop closed the show with “Gin and Juice”. The ‘Stairway to Heaven’ of Hip Hop. ‘I Wanna Thank You’ Snoop, for all the music and good times.
