Rush Fan Devastated Upon Learning Geddy Lee's Real Name is Gary!

Rush fan, Rich Pacesa, was devastated recently when he learned that his idol, Geddy Lee was born Gary Weinrib in Canada.

“I have been a Rush fan all my life” said Pacesa, “I heard rumors of Geddy Lee being Canadian, but I never believed it. I never imagined his name was anything other than Geddy Lee. He is the best Bass player ever and my favorite musician. My accountant’s name is Gary. I just assumed an awesome rock star would have an awesome name like Geddy Lee! I don’t know if I can carry on now that this new information has been revealed. Gary is the guy’s name on the Howard Stern show. Baba Booey for Christ’s sake.”

Geddy Lee, of course, is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, and keyboardist for the Canadian rock group Rush. He got the moniker ‘Geddy’, from his mother saying Gary through a thick Polish accent.

Pacesa continued, “All this time, I thought his name was Getty Lee. As a matter of fact I always figured he was an American Bada$$ from Tennessee or something. You know like Stagger Lee or General Lee. This has been a bad year. Canadian!? Are you sure? I really can’t take much more. I demand to see a birth certificate.”

Meanwhile Rush Guitarist Alex Lifeson was asked for comment and said “Geddy’s real name is Gary!? I did not know that. Good thing we are retired or I would have quit the band. I’m not playing in a band with a guy named Gary!”
