Robert Smith Shows Off Sassy New Haircut

Robert Smith of The Cure took to social media today to show off his sassy new haircut. The Cure frontman and godfather of Emo sported a fancy new Karen type haircut with red highlights and sharp edges.

Robert Smith captioned the photo on social media, “Felt kinda cute might wear non black clothing later.” Smith then told Madhouse News, “It was time for a change, I have been rocking this rats nest hair for some 40 years now. Do you know that I actually found a rat in there. It was disgusting.”

Smith began sporting his trademark physical appearance of a pale complexion, smeared red lipstick, black eye-liner, a disheveled nest of wiry black hair, all-black clothes, and brothel creeper shoes in the early 1980s. The sombre mood of early Cure albums, combined with Smith’s on-stage persona, cemented the band’s “gothic” image. Smith will forever be known as The Godfather of Goth.

Smith put his hair in the hands of world famous stylist Pauline Jaques. “It was a frightening experience” said Smith. “She came at me with pliers and a blow torch. I held onto my privates and prayed for the best. The hair was flying and she was snipping wildly like Edward Scissor hands. At one point Pauline had a machete in one hand and a belt sander in the other. When she pulled the weed whacker out it was too much and I passed out. When I came to I had this beautiful sassy new look.”

Pastels & Bright Colors

Robert loved his new look and has been working with a stylist as well. “I went shopping and we bought a bunch of colorful slacks and sweaters. Pastels and bright colors, nothing black at all. It was too much to thrust the new clothing on my emo fans at the same time as my new hair. They are a fragile bunch of weirdos you know. Sad girls, Snotty boys, and general freaks all over the world think of me as their savior. I have to be careful with all of these ‘Goth’ ‘Emo’ and ‘New Wave Post Punk’ oddities.”

“If you change the way you look at things” said Smith. “The things you look at change. If you can’t get in then stay the hell out.” This was a strange inspiration quote from a man who once threatened to sue his parents for birthing him. Smith said he objects to having been born and holds a grudge against his parents to this day. “How dare they” said Smith. “How dare they thrust me into this terrible world without my permission.
