Robert Plant To Star in New Game of Thrones Spinoff
Singer Robert Plant has signed on to star in the new Game of Thrones sequel. Whether you call it a sequel or a spin off, the working title of the new series is said to be “Snow”. Plant will portray Lord Percy, The Golden God of Kashmir.
Game of Thrones, in case you have been living under a rock, is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. The show premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and concluded on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes broadcast over eight seasons. Many consider it the finest moment in television history.
Let it Snow
The new series tentatively titled “Snow” was the brain child of Kit Harrington who portrayed Jon Snow on all eight seasons of the show’s run. Harrington will be the star, writer, director and key grip for the series. “It’s all about me” said Harrington. “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow baby.”
The show’s creators offered Plant many opportunities throughout the years to appear on the show. However, he always turned them down. “They offered me roles of beggars, trolls and lepers” said Plant. “I was not interested in dressing up in rags and laying in mud and horse feces. For chrissakes, I was the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, I don’t do cameos on TV shows.”
Lord Percy
Things changed for this new series when Harrington demanded a major role be created for Plant. “Kit is a huge Zeppelin fan and even likes that stuff I do with Alison Krause” said Plant. “We are great friends. I agreed to appear on the show when they offered me a major role. I always wanted to be a Lord. Come on they are calling me Lord Percy, The Golden God of Kashmir. On a weekly basis I can perform some new songs on the show and rework some old Zep tunes. Maybe I will even talk them into letting Page appear as a troll under the bridge.”
