Robert Plant Stripped to Underpants by Rabid Fans!

On this day in Madhouse History: July 31 1975.

Detroit, Michigan – Rabid female fans chased Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant today and ripped his pants completely off.

Plant was in town for a concert with The Led Zeppelin and was taking a stroll by himself when he was recognized by a female fan. She let out a scream and that soon attracted other female fans. The crowd grew and grew and eventually got a little rowdy. Eventually, the crowd could not contain itself and started ripping at Plant’s hair and clothing.

Wobbly Bits

Plant ran for his life. He was unscathed but lost his pants in the process. “Birds were grabbing at my hair, my package, my wobbly bits, you name it. I was scared for my life. I think one chick had her finger in me bum. It ain’t easy being a rock star. I ended up hiding in the park.”

Plant was rescued by Led Zeppelin Guitarist Jimmy Page, who rode through the park on horseback and swooped up Plant and rode to safety. While on horseback, they rode through the crowd bashing groupies with guitars, fists and feet.

Trampled Under Foot

The rock n roll duo trampled many fans under foot. The streets were scattered with battered and bloody fans, but they loved it. “It was well worth it” said fan Darlene Walden. “I lost a tooth, and I have a black eye, but it was so worth it to get a glimpse of Robert and touch his golden mane.”

Local groupie Rhonda Price commented “Oh my gosh, he is so beautiful, I don’t know what came over me, when I saw Robert, I just felt all tingly down there and had to rip his pants off. I lost my mind, but I would definitely do it again. He is the most beautiful creature god has ever created.”
