Olivia Rodrigo Joins Pantera On Stage To Perform “Cowboys From Hell”

Pop star Olivia Rodrigo joined Heavy Metal band Pantera onstage in Baltimore to perform the bands classic “Cowboys From Hell”. The crowd seemed puzzled as Pantera singer Phil Anselmo announced that a special guest would be joining them and Olivia walked out. Bass player Rex Brown was spotted mouthing “Who” to drummer Charlie Benante and they both shrugged. Rodrigo performed “Cowboys” with Anselmo and then came back out for an encore of “F*cking Hostile”.

This bizarre coupling had Pantera fans scratching their heads in bewilderment. Who the f*ck is Olivia Rodrigo could be heard throughout the CFG Bank Arena In Baltimore, Maryland. The metals fans were wondering who this young pop singer was. However, by the end of the show they had changed their tunes and were won over. All I can say is that there is a lot more Olivia fans today.

Pantera is a thrash metal band from Arlington, formed in 1981 by the Abbott brothers. The most popular line was Guitarist Dimebag Darrell, drummer Vinnie Paul, singer Anselmo and bass player Rex Brown. The current lineup features Zakk Wylde on guitar and Charlie Benante on drums. Olivia Rodrigo is a pop princess who just turned 21. No one over 21 actually knows any of her songs but thats ok. These two could not be more different and we have no idea how this pairing came together. But we know we like it.

It turns out that Zakk Wylde’s daughter is a big fan of Olivia Rodrigo. Zakk and his children went to see Olivia in concert recently and went backstage to meet her. They hit it off and spent the night making dance videos for TikTok. Zakk invited Olivia to join his band on stage and she was delighted. It turns out Rodrigo is a huge Pantera fan. “I love Pantera, I have a Pantera concert Tee and I can name three songs.”

At this point, we flash back to CFG Arena. As the band kicked into the iconic opening riff of “Cowboys From Hell” Rodrigo unleashed her inner rock goddess. The juxtaposition of Pantera’s gritty sound with Rodrigo’s polished pop image created a surreal experience that had fans weeping with joy.

Pantera fan Spencer McCallister commented, “Olivia Rodrigo was very impressive. I am giddy as a 12 year old school girl. Yes you can now put me down as an official Livie. That is what Olivia’s fans are known as.” When asked by a friend how he knew that, Spencer quickly changed the subject and stated, “Umm, excuse me I have to go over there for a minute.” He then disappeared into the crowd singing Olivia’s song, ‘Get Him Back’ .
