New Poll: 0% Of Music Fans Can Name That Guy From Smash Mouth

A new Quinnipiac poll shows that out of 10,000 music fans polled, not one could name the lead singer of the band Smash Mouth. Many recognized him as that guy from Smash Mouth, but no one knew that the singers name is actually, well we will give you the name later because we still don’t actually know what it is yet either. We will have to do some further research.

Smash Mouth of course, is the very popular band of the 1990s that had some huge hit songs. Songs include “Walkin’ on the Sun” and “All Star” which was featured in the movie Shrek. The band also did a remake of The Monkees song “I’m a Believer” for the film.

Guy Something?

One person polled, Jade Blatz told Madhouse News, “I am actually a huge fan of Smash Mouth. I love Allstar and I have even seen the band in concert a few times back in my crazy college days. I used to do that ‘L’ thing on my forehead with my fingers all the time. It is so funny though, I have no idea what the singers name is. I can clearly picture him, he is a chubby guy with highlights in his hair. I think maybe it is Guy something?”

Many of those polled confused the singer with celebrity chef Guy Fieri or with that other guy from the Insane Clown Posse. Some of the oddest answers were, Rosie O’donnell, Chaz Bono, Kevin James and even cartoon characters Shrek and Family Guy.

We contacted the actual band members of Smash Mouth and they weren’t sure of his name either. The band has gone through many personnel changes over the years, so we spoke to a man that claimed to be the current drummer. He stated that he thinks the original singer was named ‘Guy’ and he left the band to be a chef or something.

After utilizing the internet, libraries and hiring a research analyst and a private investigator we were able to track down the name of that guy from Smash Mouth. The lead singers name is Steven Scott Harwell and he was born in California in 1967. Apparently he is no longer the singer of Smash Mouth. He had a break down on stage where he threw his feces at the audience and then retired.
