Naked & Afraid Rock Stars with Keith, Stevie, Lindsey, Hetfield, Patti Smith, Rollins & More This Summer on Discovery Channel
The Discovery Channel announced that, “Naked and Afraid Rock Stars” will air this summer. Just as in the original show, each episode will chronicle the lives of survivalists who are given the task of surviving a stay in the wilderness for 21 days. Only this time they will be pampered Rock Stars.
Each Rock Star survivalist will be buck naked and will be allowed to bring one helpful item, such as a machete or a fire starter. After the teammates meet in the assigned locale, the partners must build a shelter and find food and water.
Fleetwood Mac
The first episode stars former husband and wife, and Fleetwood Mac bandmates, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. They are sworn arch enemies ever since Nicks threw Buckingham out of the band. Sparks fly when the pair meet in the jungles of Costa Rica. Lindsey brings a fire starter and Nicks shows up with a hair dryer.
Other episodes include Keith Richards, Patti Smith, James Hetfield of Metallica, Henry Rollins, Joni Mitchell and Dolly Parton. We do not want to give anything away but one survivalist chooses a pipe to smoke marijuana as their one item. Another brings a guitar, and another tries to bring a butler but is turned away. There will be cursing, vomiting, tears, diarrhea, fighting, burns, lightning strikes, animal attacks and at least one death. One rock star gets attacked by a rabid wolverine which takes a big chunk out of their buttocks.
A team is allowed to “tap out” at any point during the 21-day challenge. If they do not tap out, they must arrive at the designated extraction point on the final day to be picked up by a helicopter, plane, automobile or boat or other vehicle suitable to the environment.
Easy Like Sunday Morning
Stevie Nicks commented, “Hey this will be easy, I once went a week without my personal assistant when she went home to visit her ailing father.” The Vegas odds have Henry Rollins as the favorite to win followed by Keith Richards, James Hetfield, Patti Smith, Dolly Parton and finally Stevie Nicks.
