Man Posing as Dave Grohl Fleeces Women Out of Cash & Love
A Turkish Man, Ahmet Akbas, has been arrested for posing as rock star Dave Grohl and fleecing women out of money and their dignity. It is alleged that Akbas duped hundreds of women out of $850K.
Akbas left his hometown of Istanbul with dreams of making it big in America. Instead of working hard he planned to use his incredible resemblance to Foo Fighter Dave Grohl to strike it rich. Akbas preyed on unsuspecting women who loved rock music and especially Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters fans.
Foo Fighters
Ahmet carried around an empty guitar case and hung around rock clubs and concert halls. His brother Mehmet worked as a Limo driver and would often drive Ahmet around after hours in a big fancy stretch limo. Akbas would often strike after a Foo Fighters concert. He would then drive up to a bar or club near the venue and stroll in as if he were Dave Grohl.
Karen Bella told Madhouse News that she first met Grohl aka Akbas after a Foo Fighters concert in 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa. “I feel so stupid” said Bella. “I can clearly see now that he looks nothing like Dave Grohl and he has a Turkish accent. He explained that away by saying celebrities always look different in person. Plus, I was usually drunk and hopped up on goofballs. I thought he was being funny with the Turkish accent. He duped me out of my life savings of $87K. We talked about marriage and told me he loved me. He made me do unspeakable, unnatural acts.”
California
A woman in California, Lisa Garvey met Akbas in 2021 after a Foo Fighters show in Napa. He proceeded to drain her bank account of almost $200,000. Akbas pretended to pay the bills on her home, then vanished after it was foreclosed on. “He could not sing or play the guitar” said Garvey. “That should have tipped me off, but I was blinded by love. Wait a minute, isn’t Grohl actually happily married. Man I am an idiot.”
After Akbas scammed Michelle Kasajian she launched a full investigation. He’d stolen almost $8,000 worth of jewelry, her passport, her dog Peaches and her birth certificate. Michelle contacted other women who were fleeced by Akbas and then created a social media group. Women came out of the woodwork. The final tally was 163 women who were taken for a total sum of $850K.
Akbas is now being held on $1 Million dollar bail. He spends most of his time writing letters to women and singing in the jail house band. The band coincidentally is a Foo Fighters Tribute band.
