Man Furious He Was Tricked Into Seeing Red Hot Chilli Pipers
Jake Anderson of Tarrytown, NY got a huge St. Patricks Day surprise when he attended a concert for what he thought was his favorite band. Anderson thought he was going to see the Funk Rock band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, he had actually purchased tickets to see The Red Hot Chilli Pipers. The Chilli Pipers are a Scottish bagpipe band that covers classic rock songs.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Anderson had a great night planned for himself and 3 friends. “I was stoked” said Anderson. My boys and I love The Chili Peppers, we saw them like 15 times over the years, we never miss a show. Imagine my enthusiasm when I saw they were playing on St. Patrick’s Day at a small bar just 5 minutes from my house. I immediately got 4 tickets and was so psyched the tickets only cost $15 each. The last time we saw them the tickets were $150 each at Madison Square Garden in New York City.”
“I called up my boys, Michael Fitzpatrick, Patrick Fitzmichael and Pat McGroin. Don’t make plans for St Patricks Day. Guess what boys, we are going to see The Chili Peppers at McNasty’s Pub.”
“Everyone was psyched, this was going to be the best St Pat’s Day ever. We pregamed at our friends Seamus’s house. It was 8AM and we were doing Irish Car Bombs. Life doesn’t get better than this. By the time we got to McNasty’s we were pretty lit.”
“We got there early and worked our way up to the front of the stage. We couldn’t believe our good fortune. For only $15 we are within touching distance of Anthony, Flea and the boys. The band came out on the stage and we were a bit confused. Maybe it was an opening act or some sort of St Pat’s Irish ceremony.”
Red Hot Chilli Pipers
“I started to panic when they introduced themselves as The Red Hot Chilli Pipers and started playing Smoke on the Water with bagpipes. Then they did a cover of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing, all on bagpipes. It was the worst night of my life. This was not the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There would be no Give It Away, Californication, Under The Bridge or Aeroplane. This was the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.”
“I was hoodwinked, bamboozled and lied to. They need to have a warning label or something. The names are too much alike and drunken dummies like me who dropped out in the 9th grade can’t be expected to notice such subtleties. Did you ever stand two feet from a bagpipe. It was excruciating. I think I may be emotionally scarred and probably have permanent hearing damage. I am definitely the laughing stock of Tarrytown, NY. My friends will never let me hear the end of this.”
