Lemmy’s Moles to Release New Album and Tour in 2020
Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer and bassist for the influential band Motorhead, passed away in 2015, but his spirit and his moles live on.
Besides being an incredible musician, Lemmy was known for his muttonchops and his enormous moles.
The moles, ‘Claude’ and ‘Manny’ have been living in seclusion in Montreux, Switzerland since Lemmy’s death. “We have been drying out, writing, recording and putting a band together” said Manny. “It was time” said Claude. “Lemmy would have wanted us to carry on. This new album is a work of love for our friend Lemmy. A great tribute to the man who taught us everything we know.”
The third member of the band is Aaron Neville’s mole, ‘Stedman’, who plays drums and sings. “I am excited AF about this new project” says Stedman. “I loved Aaron but we bumped heads a lot, we did not get along musically, we had very different tastes.”
The new album produced by Don Was, features a mix of original tunes and Motorhead covers. The album features plenty of guest musicians as well. Slash, Rob Halford, Cardi B, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Michael Schenker lend their talents to the album. Even former Motorhead band members Phil “Wizzö” Campbell and Mikkey Dee appear on ‘Ace of Spades’.
The tour kicks off with a very special show at the Rainbow Bar in West Hollywood and continues throughout 2020. “I am psyched that we are playing some shows with Motley Crue” said Claude. “We had a lot of fun with those guys back in the day. They were a bunch of lightweights. Me and Manny drank them under the table on many a night.”
