Kerry King of Slayer Admits He Was Chunk in The Goonies
Kerry King, Chunk, The Goonies? In a mind-blowing turn of events, heavy metal legend Kerry King has come forward with a shocking revelation. Fans of both heavy metal music and ’80s cinema were left in a state of utter disbelief. It turns out that behind the face-melting guitar solos and relentless headbanging, the Slayer guitarist had a secret life as none other than Chunk from the iconic film, “The Goonies.” Brace yourselves, folks, because this is one hell of a plot twist!
For years, we’ve known Kerry King as the ferocious shredder who could summon demons with the power of his riffs. But little did we suspect that he could also conquer the silver screen with his incredible acting skills. Who would have thought that beneath that bald head lurked the curly-haired, truffle-shuffling treasure hunter Chunk? It’s almost as if King had been hiding his true identity in plain sight, all while he was busy touring the world and melting faces.
Kerry King is Chunk in the Goonies
How could we have not known? The resemblance is uncanny. Well, it is uncanny because it is the same person. King answered all the questions that might arise. “Yes, I was 20 and Chunk was supposed to be a 12 year old. Well, that’s why they call it acting. Plus I was small and chubby. Actually, my mom would always tell me that I was not fat, but I was Husky. As a kid I used to shop in the husky department at Sears and my mom would buy me Tuff Skins jeans. Anyway, I digress. I played Chunk in the Goonies. Being Chunk was like being in a band with a different kind of brotherhood. The Goonies never say die, and neither does Slayer!”
“King continued, “The studio never knew that I was heavy metal guitarist Kerry King. I told them my name was actor Jeff Cohen. It was a great experience and as Slayer began taking off, I dropped out of acting. The studio did not want a satanic heavy metal guy associated with the movie so they made up a story about who Jeff Cohen was. I think they fabricated that he was a lawyer or something. The same story that they created for Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson. You know that Alice was on Leave it to Beaver and Manson was on Wonder Years. Then the studios swept it under the rug and made up a cover story.”
As rumors spread like wildfire, fans began to rewatch “The Goonies,” searching for hints that Kerry King had been right under their noses the whole time. Slayer Fan Nicholas Vacante discovered that if you start The Goonies movie and Reign in Blood at the 1 minute mark, they synch up perfectly. Slayer and The Goonies, perfect together.
