Keith Richards To Waterski Over Tank Full of Sharks

As part of Madhouse Magazine’s ‘Extreme Shark Week Extravaganza’, Keith Richards will make the ultimate sacrifice and attempt to break the record of Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli. Keith will attempt to jump over 2 shark tanks, a killer whale and a Kraken all on waterskis.

Richards got the idea of course from the Happy Days episode which aired September 20, 1977. A water-skiing Fonzie (Henry Winkler) answers a challenge wearing swim trunks and his trademark leather jacket and jumps over a confined shark. Henry Winkler was actually an accomplished water skier.

Richards will attempt what Evel Knievel could not accomplish. For his last major “stunt”, Knievel was to jump over a tank of sharks in Chicago, but an accident prior to the event prevented him from completing it. In the tragic accident, Evel lost a testicle and a cameraman lost an eye.

Knievel was to jump over 13 sharks for a distance of 90 feet. Richards will double that with 26 sharks at a distance of 180 feet. Keith will be doing all of this on waterskis while playing his guitar and smoking a cigarette.

The fearless Richards, who some say is indestructible, plans on playing The Rolling Stones classic ‘Jumpin Jack Flash’ on his Telecaster guitar while attempting the jump on waterskis.

When asked for comment, Keith stated “all I need is 5 strings, 3 notes, 2 hands and 1 arsehole”. Ok Then. Good Luck Keith!

‘Shark Week Extreme’ can be seen on MadhouseMagazine.com for 8 consecutive days, beginning Sunday.  Check local listings for time and channel.
