Justin Bieber to Play Bob Marley in New Biopic
Justin Bieber has been cast in the upcoming Bob Marley biopic. Bieber will play the Jamaican reggae legend in the long awaited film directed by musician Shaggy. Yellowman and Eddy Grant are producing the film in cooperation with the Marley family.
Shaggy is a Jamaican reggae rapper, singer, and songwriter who is best known for his hit song “Boombastic” and hanging around with Sting. Even though he has no directorial experience the Marley family wanted to hire an all Jamaican crew. “How hard can directing be” said Shaggy. “You boss people around all day tell them to stand here or there. Hollywood would like you to believe they are doing something complicated but there is nothing to it.”

Initial reports stated that Kingsley Ben-Adir was set to play Marley, but he was fired after Shaggy insisted that Bieber play the lead role. “Justin was born to play Marley” said Shaggy. “They are kindred spirits. Biebs and Marley are the two most important musical artists of all time. Given that, I can’t think of anyone else that could do this role justice. In addition Justin already has the dreads.”
There were plenty of actors and musicians who auditioned for the role of Bob Marley. Ed Sheeran, Zach De La Rocha, Lizzo, Eminem, Danny Trejo, Chris Rock, Jussie Smollett and Samuel L. Jackson all threw their hat in the ring to play the Reggae legend. Ziggy Marley commented, “They are all accomplished in their own way but none were right to play my father. In conclusion I agree that Justin is perfect casting. Did you see how cool his dreads are?”
Justin Bieber is excited for the role and cannot wait to get started. “I am so psyched. For weeks now I have been growing out my dreads, smoking a lot of ganja and practicing my Jamaican accent. I have been hanging around in Kingston and saying things like Ya man, Irie and Ting. Bob Marley is my favorite and I am looking forward to singing all his songs. My favorite Marley song is Don’t Worry Be Happy.”
Fans had mixed reviews on the casting. Chester Jablonski tweeted, “I never understood the I Shot The Sheriff song. Like what kind of defense is that? Shooting a sheriff is probably a worse crime than killing the deputy. This guy should have asked for a better attorney.”
