Julian told Madhouse News, “I am sick of being the redheaded step child. Sean gets everything and Yoko treats me like crap. Just last week I call Yoko to say hello and she tells me she doesn’t know anyone by the name Julian. I may not have physically written the songs because I was 3, 4, 5 years old. However, I was the main inspiration for those two songs and I should get a writing credit and an assist. Oh and $50 million dollars would be nice too.”

Lucy

John Lennon often said that his inspiration for the song “Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds” came when three-year-old Julian showed him a nursery school drawing that he called “Lucy – in the Sky with Diamonds”, depicting his classmate Lucy O’Donnell. Miss O’Donnell is also a plaintiff in the case asking for $5 million. “Hey if people are getting paid I want in too” stated Lucy.

Hey Jude

In May 1968, John Lennon and his wife Cynthia separated due to his affair with Japanese artist Yoko Ono. The following month, Paul McCartney drove out to visit the Lennons’ five-year-old son Julian. On the journey down McCartney composed ‘Hey Jude’ in the car. “I will never forget Paul’s gesture of care and concern in coming to see us.”  sad Julian. The song’s original title was “Hey Jules”, and it was intended to comfort Julian from the stress of his parents’ separation. McCartney said, “I knew it was not going to be easy for him”, and that he changed the name to “Jude” “because Julian thought that sounded a bit better”.

When reached for comment Paul McCartney told Madhouse News, “Oh that’s unfortunate. I love Julian. He really did get the short end of the stick from John and Yoko but he’s not getting any of my money. Let Yoko give it to him.”
