James Hetfield Working as Uber Driver to Make Ends Meet
Metallica singer/guitarist James Hetfield, announced that he is now working as an Uber driver to make ends meet.
Hetfield made headlines last Fall when Metallica announced they had to cancel their upcoming tour so James could return to rehab. James has had a history of alcohol abuse.
Fat Burger
Hetfield recently made his first public appearance since being released from rehab. James was paid $100 to attend “Drive Night” at a local FatBurger in Los Angeles. Classic car enthusiasts drive their car to the FatBurger and stand there all night staring at each. “It’s a lot of fun” said Jason Nowlan who owns a 1982 souped up Toyota Celica.
Madhouse News caught up with Hetfield and asked about driving for Uber. “I need the money man” said Hetfield. “I just got out of rehab and find out that the little money that I had left, that I did not drink away was taken by Lars. Lars said he lost a lot of money when I cancelled the tour so he broke into my shed and took the money I had hidden in the bird seed barrel. There was like $100,000 in there and now it’s all gone.”
Robert Simmons was shocked when he got in his Uber and realized who the driver was. “He looked familiar, but I didn’t think for a second that the lead singer of Metallica would be driving me to the bodega to buy condoms and pork rinds.”
“It’s honest work man” said Hetfield. I get time to spend with my thoughts, think up creative ways to kill Lars, and I pull down a cool $250 bucks a week. The job is flexible so I get to spend more time devising new ways to torture Lars. Once the new Metallica tour kicks off though, I am thinking of switching to part time.”
