Happy Birthday Tal Wilkenfeld
Tal Wilkenfeld was born December 2, 1986 in Sydney, Australia. However, we are questioning those dates. We launched a full investigation and determined that Tal is actually only 12 years old, so that means she was born in 2008.
Tal began playing guitar at age 4, dropped out of Kindergarten, moved to the US and received a scholarship at the Electric Guitar conservatory on East 86th Street. At age 10 she started playing in the bars in NYC and making a name for herself.
Tal played with The Allman Brothers, Chick Corea, Mick Jagger, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Prince and of course, is a mainstay in Jeff Beck’s band. She has toured the world, released solo music and is a well respected bass player.
When not playing the bass, Tal enjoys meditation, stand up comedy, ‘Twizzlers’ and playing with her collection of American Girl dolls. Her favorite TV shows are Spongebob Squarepants and iCarly. Wilkenfeld endorses Sadowsky bass guitars and strings, EBS Professional Bass Equipment amplifiers, cabinets, and effect pedals.
