Happy Birthday Ozzy
John Michael Osbourne was born December 3, 1948 somewhere in England. Ozzy was a huge Beatles fan and credits their 1963 song “She Loves You” for inspiring him to become a musician. Osbourne left school at 15 and was employed as a slaughter house worker, dance instructor, monkey trainer, car factory horn-tuner, and blacksmith.
Ozzy attempted a life of crime, stealing a television, which fell on him during his getaway. It was a big console TV and trapped him underneath. Unable to move the police easily apprehended him. He spent six weeks on the chain gang when his father refused to pay the fine.
Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath formed in Birmingham in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. They are the true pioneers of heavy metal music. The band helped define the genre with releases such as Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970), and Master of Reality (1971). The band had multiple line-up changes following Osbourne’s departure in 1979, with Iommi being the only constant member throughout its history. Osbourne’s total album sales from his years in Black Sabbath, combined with his solo work, is over 100 million.
Ozzy became a reality TV star and then starred in The Golden Girls remake. The show starred Paul McCartney as Blanche, Ozzy Osbourne as Rose, Alice Cooper as Dorothy, and Elton John as Mama Sophia. Just as in the original, the show takes place in Miami Florida, and will center around four women sharing a house together. Hilarity ensues.
Judge Ozzy
Most recently Ozzy was picked to replace Judge Judy. “I left school at age 16 to work in a slaughterhouse” said Ozzy. “In my life, I have been arrested many times and I have been in trouble with the law all my life. I have a history of drug abuse. I was once arrested for peeing on the Alamo. Who is better qualified to be a TV judge than me?” It was also announced that Ozzy will replace Alex Trebek as the host of Jeopardy.
Ozzy is known as Lucifer, The Prince of Darkness, Godfather of Heavy Metal and many other names, but we like to think of him as one of the coolest frontmen of all time and an International Treasure. In his spare time Ozzy relaxes by shooting guns, playing with RC cars and chewing the heads off bats. Mr. Osbourne of course has been married to Sharon since 1982 and they have 3 children together.
