Happy Birthday Lindsey Buckingham

Lindsey Adams Buckingham was born October 3, 1949 in Palo Alto, California. He had 2 brothers, Greg & Gregory. The boys were competitive swimmers and Lindsey went on to win a silver medal at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. He immediately quit to pursue music.

Puff The Magic Dragon

Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham met during their senior year of High School. Lindsey was performing ‘Puff The Magic Dragon’, Stevie fell in love instantly. When Nicks and Buckingham got the call to join Fleetwood Mac, they were down to their last few dollars. The duo was reduced to eating cat food, not because they were poor, they just enjoyed it. Nicks was working as a waitress to support them. At their first rehearsal with Fleetwood Mac, they each received $7 from the band to help them get by.

Buckingham is an incredible singer/songwriter and guitarist. Fleetwood Mac went on to sell over 120 million albums and were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It is rumored that the band snorted $120 million dollars worth of cocaine in 1977 alone.

Fleetwood Mac eventually erupted and the relationships all went to hell.  Things turned violent in the Nicks/Buckingham feud, when Lindsey Buckingham heckled Nicks during her segment on “The Today Show” on NBC. During Nicks’ interview with Roker, Buckingham began yelling “Baba Booey”. Nicks dismissed the interruption and continued the interview. After a few more outbursts by Buckingham, the last straw occurred when Buckingham pretended to cough as he shouted out “Coke Whore” and “Prostitution Whore”.  Nicks went berserk at this point and flipped a table over as she ran towards Buckingham, with Rokers’ umbrella in hand. Shocked and terrified, Buckingham ran for the exit, but was run down and tackled by Nicks. Nicks took the umbrella and rammed it up Buckinghams rectum. Nicks then opened the umbrella. Cheers Lindsey.
