Happy Birthday Liam Gallagher

William John Paul George Ringo Gallagher IV was born September 21, 1972 somewhere in England. The son of Irish Catholic parents, Siobhan and Seamus Gallagher, Liam had 2 brothers, Noel and Thaddeus.

Bad Liam

As teenagers, the Gallagher brothers were regular truants, often getting into trouble with the police. Noel was expelled from school at the age of 16 for throwing a bag of pigs blood over a teacher. Liam was given six months’ probation at the age of 13 for robbing a corner shop and killing the owner and his wife. He also had to write a letter of apology and promise not to kill anyone ever again.

During his teens, Liam suffered a blow to the head with a hammer from a student at a rival school. He credits this with changing his attitude towards music. “I think all teens should be hit in the head with a hammer. It will smarten them up” said Liam.

Noel & Liam were in a failing band, “Rain”. They renamed the band Oasis. In May 1993, the band heard that a record executive from ‘Scrotum’ records was in town. They followed ‘Scrotum’ president, Alan McGee, into the mens room and played him their songs while he was trapped in the stall. McGee enjoyed the songs and took their tape to Sony America. He invited Oasis to meet with him a week later in London. At this point they were signed to a six-album contract. The rest is history.

Trouble

After an incident on a flight to Australia in 1998 that apparently involved an inappropriate use of a scone, Gallagher was banned for life from Cathay Pacific airline; he responded that he would “rather walk”. During the band’s Australian tour at the time, he was arrested and charged with assault after allegedly headbutting a 19-year-old fan who claimed he was only asking Gallagher for a photo. Criminal charges were later dropped, although a civil case was pursued that led to Gallagher reportedly settling out of court. In 2006, Gallagher allegedly had a drunken fight with footballer Paul Gascoigne at the Groucho Club in London. It ended with Liam setting off a fire extinguisher in Gascoigne’s face.

Liam currently has a net worth of $7.5 Million. At the peak, it was estimated to be $50 million. He admitted that he has expensive hobbies, and tastes. “Divorces, fancy hotels, first class flights and drugs cost a lot of money.” Cheers Liam.
