David Bowie

Happy Birthday

David Robert Jones
January 8, 1947
Brixton, London, England

We remember David Bowie as a talented singer, songwriter, actor and one of the most influential artists of our time. A true musical genius.

Bowie combined music with visual imagery, theatrics and costumes, creating many alter egos and characters.

Bowie was "The Spaceman", "Ziggy Stardust", & "The Thin White Duke".

"The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders in Mars" was a groundbreaking album from 1972. Bowie spearheaded the Glam movement and was the biggest star in the world. Bowie blurred the lines and pushed the borders of sexuality and androgyny.
Bowie, never one to rest on his laurels, was constantly changing and reinventing himself. The only constant in Bowie's career, was the fact that he was sure to change.

Bowie would come up with a million dollar idea and before you knew it, he would toss it aside and come up with something even more genius.

Bowie went from Spaceman to Ziggy to Diamond Dogs to Philly Blue Eyed Soul to Berlin Electonica, to 80's dance hits. You name it, Bowie did it, and did it well. He was a revolutionary artist. A once in a lifetime artist.

Bowie's body of work is breath taking, prolific and genius. It will never be matched.

Bowie tragically died in 2016, but his legend, his music and his influence will live on forever.

We remember and salute you on this day of your birth David Bowie!
