Happy Birthday Daryl Hall
Daryl Franklin Hohl was born October 11, 1946 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. His father Monty was a famous game show host know for the hit show, “Let’s Make a Deal”. Little Daryl spent summers working on his grandparents slaughter house in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We think that is in Canada somewhere.
Oates met Daryl Hall at a cockfight in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The pair fled into the woods when the police raided the barn. They spent the night hiding in the woods together and formed a band the next day. The rest is history.
Hall & Oates
Hall and Oates have sold an estimated 40 million records, making them the best selling music duo in history. They had six No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: “Rich Girl”, “Kiss on My List”, “Private Eyes”, “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)”, “Maneater”, and “Out of Touch”, as well as many other songs which charted in the Top 40 including the single “You Make My Dreams”. In total, they had 34 chart hits on the US Billboard Hot 100, seven RIAA platinum albums, and six RIAA gold albums. Billboard magazine named them the most successful duo of the rock era, surpassing Right Said Fred and The Milli Vanilli.
Earlier this year, in a surprising announcement, the musical duo Hall & Oates declared they are changing the band’s name to ‘Itchy & Scratchy’, effective immediately.
Hero
Musician Daryl Hall once heroically saved a bunch of children from a burning building. “My man just started throwing babies out … and we was catching them” said Hall. “I must have caught like 15 kids. I was running post patterns, making 1 armed grabs, we even started keeping score. Unfortunately, I got caught up in the excitement and I almost spiked one baby.”
Daryl has been married twice and has 1 biological child. In his spare time, Daryl enjoys remodeling old house and combing his hair. He has been voted best hair in rock n roll an impressive five times. He has a net worth of $70 million dollars! Cheers Daryl!
