Happy Birthday Brian Wilson

Brian Douglas Wilson was born on June 20, 1942, in Inglewood, California. Inglewood is a city just west of Los Angeles that has at least one liquor store per every four blocks; one porno book store per every 8 blocks; and an Asian Massage Parlor every mile.

Brian was a musical genius at birth and after uttering his first words, he was able to repeat the melody from “When the Caissons Go Rolling Along”. His father Murray encouraged the boy to take music lessons and Brian mastered every instrument by age 4.

Brian formed the Beach Boys with his brothers, cousins, neighbors and aunt Flo and uncle Ernie. After hearing The Beatles for the first time in 1964. Brian had a panic attack and stopped performing live with the group in an effort to concentrate solely on songwriting and studio production.

In May 1966, The Beach Boys unveiled “Pet Sounds”. It is a classic, a masterpiece and Paul McCartney names “God Only Knows” as his favorite song of all time. Paul McCartney was inspired by “Pet Sounds” to create “Sgt. Pepper”.

In the late 60’s, Brian got heavily involved with psychedelic drugs and the band was involved with Charles Manson, sandboxes, psychotherapy and a lot of weird stuff. We are glad to report that Brian’s mental health improved and he is still currently touring.

Brian Wilson is without a doubt a true musical genius. He has given us incredible classics that will last forever and has influenced everyone with his songwriting and production prowess.
