Happy Birthday Brian May
Brian Harold May was born July 19, 1947, somewhere in England. Brian is a man of many different talents. A rock star, guitarist, songwriter, arranger, producer, scientist, astrophysicist, and exotic cat breeder.
Growing up, Brian worked many odd jobs such as snake milker, dog food taster, and professional mourner. He was paid $5 per funeral to attend the service and cry and weep loudly. It is thought that a loud funeral will assist the dead as they travel to the afterlife.
Science
May studied physics and mathematics at Imperial College. He received his PHD after submitting his world renowned thesis on the airspeed of an unladen swallow. May concurred that the speed is 20.1 mph and this is now the accepted theory in the swallow community. Brian also introduced the controversial theory that Klingons exist on Uranus.
May couldn’t afford the Les Paul and Stratocaster guitars that he really wanted, so he built his own guitar with the help of his father. The ‘Red Special’ has become the signature instrument associated with Brian’s guitar playing and iconic personality. Brian and his father whittled ‘Big Red’ out of a slab of beechwood and used household items such as old bicycle parts and door knobs to finish it off.
Queen formed in London in 1970 and went on to become one of the biggest selling bands of all time. “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Will Rock You”, “We are the Champions”, “Somebody to Love”, “Another One Bites The Dust”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, “Killer Queen” etc. are rock n roll staples. Their performance at Live Aid in 1985 has been ranked among the greatest in rock history. Freddie Mercury died in 1991. We will not discuss the current Adam Lambert disaster.
May is considered a virtuoso guitarist by many publications and musicians. He is ranked #5 on Madhouse Magazine’s list of all time great guitarists. His tone, vibrato, innovation and melodic solos are epic. Brian recently had his buttocks ripped to shreds by a hedgehog. Cheers Brian.
