Happy Birthday Billy Idol
William Michael Albert Broad was born November 30, 1955 somewhere in England. In 1958, when he was two years old, he moved with his parents to New York as his father opened a Scotch tape store on the Lower East Side in Manhattan. 4 years later they moved back to England when the shop failed.
Billy was kicked out of the Scouts for kissing a girl at age 10. It wasn’t just any girl though, it was the scoutmasters wife. It was the Scout summer fair and Billy was caught ‘snogging’ the scout master’s wife on the grass in front of everybody. Billy commented “They threw me out for that. Crikey, I should have gotten a badge!”.
In 1976, Billy Idol formed “Gen X”. In 1981, Idol moved to New York City and became a solo artist. Billy became an MTV staple with such hits as “White Wedding” & “Dancing With Myself”. Rebel Yell (1983), Idol’s second LP, was a major success and established Idol in the United States with hits such as “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without a Face,” and “Flesh for Fantasy”.
In the 1980’s Billy, Michael Jackson and Bubbles went to Thailand for a sex and drugs holiday. Michael went to find some lady boys and left Billy and Bubbles to their own devices. Bubbles always had the best drugs. For 2 weeks straight they got insanely high and almost burnt the city to the ground. The movie ‘Hangover’ was loosely based on their time in Bangkok. Eventually the Thai police and military had to sedate Billy and bubbles, tie them to gurneys and send them back to the states. They spent an entire 14 hour flight in the baggage compartment.
Billy made the news recently when he delivered a baby on his motorcycle. Idol, who was driving past on his motorcycle, saw the couple in distress and stopped to offer assistance. When Idol saw the urgency of the situation he took charge. Idol told the woman to hop on and he gunned it to the hospital, with the husband following behind. The baby could not wait, and the bumpy ride certainly did not help. Idol knew they were not going to make it to the hospital in time, so he pulled the bike over. Idol helped deliver the baby on the back of his motorcycle, as if he were a trained doctor. Idol even cut the umbilical cord with his teeth and circumcised the baby. Together, the couple and Billy Idol helped welcome the couple’s son, ‘William’, into the world. He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. “It was nothing. All in a days work for a Rock Star.” said Idol, as he danced in the hospital and gave us his signature fist pump and lip snarl.
In his free time Idol enjoys crashing motorcycles and banging chicks. Billy has never married but has at least 1 child in every continent that he doesn’t know about. He is currently dating China Chow. Idol has an incredible net worth of $60 million.
