Happy Birthday Billy Corgan

William Patrick Corgan Jr. was born on March 17, 1967 somewhere around Chicago, Illinois. His father surprisingly is not named William Corgan Sr. His name is Claude C. Organ, but he just liked the ring of the name Junior for his son.

Billy changed his name to Corgan after being relentlessly teased for having the last name Organ. Billy was a big baseball fan and amassed a huge collection of 10,000 baseball cards. His stepmother threw away most of them including Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth cards estimated to be worth 1 million dollars.

Black Sabbath

At 8 years old, young Billy’s life was changed forever by Black Sabbath. It sounded so heavy. It rattled the bones. I wanted that feeling. With ‘Bauhaus’ and `‘The Cure’, it was the ability to create a mood and an atmosphere. The air gets heavier. With Jimi Hendrix it was the ability to translate this other level of guitar.

Billy went on to become the singer/songwriter for the successful 1990’s band, ‘Smashing Pumpkins’. Corgan was voted the worst singer of all time by Popular Mechanics.

Corgan is a mess mentally and has struggled with anxiety and depression for much of his life. He has endured bouts of panic attacks, fear of missing out and enjoys the smell of his own farts. He was involved with Courtney Love but they had a falling out after Corgan did not attend Frances Bean’s birthday party.

Corgan is heavily involved with wrestling and purchased the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). Corgan also wrestles under the name of “Uncle Underpants”. “Uncle Underpants” is a pedophile character that wears soiled underpants.
