Anthony Kiedis was born November 1, 1962 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Margaret “Peggy” Noble and struggling actor Sir Laurence Kiedis, known professionally as Lord  Dammett. Little Tony’s parents divorced when he was 3, and in 1974, when Kiedis was 12, he moved to Hollywood to live with his father full-time.

Kiedis’s father sold drugs, which had an impact on Kiedis, as the two would often use marijuana and cocaine together. Kiedis accidentally tried heroin for the first time at age 14, mistaking it for cocaine. Through his father, Kiedis, who worked under the stage name of Little Lord Dammett, landed his first acting role appearing as Sylvester Stallone’s son in the 1978 film, F.I.S.T. He landed two more acting jobs, in an ABC Afterschool Special, “Why Does it Hurt When I Pee”, and an appearance in the film “Death Wish”.

Anthony became friends with Flea & Hillel Slovak in High School. They all attended Moe Howard HS in Los Angeles. They spent their days listening to music, doing drugs, eating Doritos and enjoying being social outcasts together.

They formed The Red Hot Chili Peppers, released 3 albums in the 80’s that went no where, had a lot of issues with drugs and band members coming and going. In 1989 John Frusciante and Chad Smith joined the band and they released “Mother’s Milk” to some commercial success. “Blood Sugar Sex Magik”, “One Hot Minute”, International success and a lot of songs about California followed. They still had a problem keeping guitarists.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers mixed Funk, Punk, Rock and Rap, overcame drug issues, liked to get naked and made some great music. Anthony had a very colorful life. His godfather was Sonny Bono and Cher would babysit for him. He dated Sinead O’Conner, Sporty Spice, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Liz Taylor.
