During a ‘Zoom’ with Madhouse News, John Oates seemed absolutely giddy about the name change. “As you know I have been getting second billing for all these years and Daryl always promised me that one day it would be ‘Oates & Hall’. Well now is as good a time as any” said Oates. “Oates & Hall sounded wonky, so Daryl suggested ‘Itchy & Scratchy’. I am Itchy and I get first billing. I am the tops.”

When asked if there were any copyright infringements, Daryl Hall replied “Are you out of your mind!? of course we are not really changing our name to Itchy & Scratchy. I just said that to John to shut him up. For 40 years now he has been nagging me for top billing. Just play along, he will never know the difference.
