Greta Van Fleet: We Never Heard of Led Zeppelin
Greta Van Fleet lashed out during a recent interview and said they are sick of the comparisons to Led Zeppelin. In fact, they claim they have never even heard of the supergroup.
In a recent interview, lead singer Josh Kiszka stated “who is this Led Zeppelin you speak of? I have never heard of them. Are they a band?” When the interviewer stopped laughing, the band’s guitarist Jake Kiszka chimed in “just because our guitar riffs sound exactly like theirs and our bass and drum riffs are identical, and the song structures are the same, and our singer tries to emulate Robert Plant, doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a coincidence.
Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan, formed in 2012. It consists of vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka, and drummer Danny Wagner.
“We are Greta Van Zeppelin, I mean Van Fleet” said bassist Sam Kiszka. “See what you made me do now. Strike that from the record. We are our own band, we didn’t copy from anyone, now check out our new single it’s called ‘Escalator to Heaven’. It’s a 7 minute song that starts off slow and beautiful and then slowly gets louder and more aggressive. Did your Led Zeppelin ever do anything like that? No I bet not. Now leave me alone it’s time for my nap.”
