FDNY Rescues Dee Snider from Howard Sterns Chimney

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider had to be rescued from a chimney in New York City by the Fire Department. Snider got stuck in the chimney as he was attempting to sneak into radio shock jock Howard Stern’s swanky Manhattan apartment.

Snider and Stern were good friends many years ago and Dee was a frequent guest on the radio DJ’s show which aired on WXRK in New York. They spent time together off the air as well and used to braid each other’s hair. The pair had a falling out which is attributed to a number of reasons.

Snider accused Stern of being a sellout after he moved to Satellite radio. “Howard became everything he used to make fun of” said Snider. “He got rid of the original wife, found a trophy wife, and started hanging out with Rosie O’Donnell and Oprah. I was a washed up one hit hair metal singer. Stern would not let me on his show anymore. He only wanted A-List celebrities like Lizzo. Then he was mad when I took a job as a radio DJ and got higher ratings than him. I had to feed my family.”

Stern stopped taking Dee’s calls, ignoring his texts and emails. Snider was banned from the Sirius studios. When Dee showed up at the studio to try to see Howard, Stern had his security detail led by Ronnie the Limo driver escort Dee out. “They tased my nads” said Snider. “Then they roughed me up and threw me out head first into the snow.”

Snider was desperate to get back in Stern’s good graces. Dee devised a plan to go down Stern’s chimney on Christmas night. “I dressed like Santa so no one would think anything was amiss. Then I started down the chimney. The plan was to pop out of Howard’s fireplace on Christmas night and Howard would laugh. We would hug and make up and he would have me on the show. Then I could hang out with him and Adam Levine.”

Dee ended up getting stuck in the chimney as Howard was sleeping by 8pm on Christmas night and the chimney flue was closed. Snider ended up stuck for 12 hours before Howard called police. “I heard moaning” said Stern. “I called the police because I thought it was one of my cats. If I knew it was Dee, I would have left him there.” FDNY was able to extricate Dee by late afternoon. He was treated for exhaustion, dehydration and embarrassment and released.
