Elliot/Ellen Page to Play Both Madonna & Sean Penn in New Biopic

The search for Madonna is over. Madonna has been working on her upcoming biopic for some time now. There have been lots of discussions on who should portray the iconic singer. Well, the debates are over and Madonna herself announced today that Elliot/Ellen Page landed the coveted role as The Queen of Pop. 

The finalists battling for the role were “Inventing Anna” and “Ozark” star Julia Garner, Jennifer Lawrence, The Rock, singers Stevie Nicks and Lizzo and some we never heard of, Florence Pugh, Emma Laird, Chloë Grace Moretz and even Madonna herself through the use of CGI. 

Boot Camp

Sources told Madhouse News that the contenders endured a “grueling” audition process with casting director Carmen Cuba as well as a “Madonna boot camp”. The boot camp involves intense choreography training sessions lasting up to 16 hours a day with Madonna’s choreographer and the pop icon herself. 

For the callback portion of the process, the actresses performed readings with Madonna, as well as singing auditions. Next they underwent strenuous physical training, martial arts and classes on such areas as Madonna history. They completed a 1½-mile run, 500 sit-ups, 50 pull-ups and watch all of the Madonna movies. The finalists then underwent gas chamber training, and weapons training.

After it was all said and done, the last person standing was Elliot Page. Elliott of course is the former Ellen Page known as the star of the movie “Juno”. On December 1, 2020, Page came out as transgender on his social media accounts, specified his pronouns as he/him and they/them, and revealed his new name, Elliot. 

They/Them

The word on the street is that this will be a huge role for Page and they could be looking at Oscar nominations. Them will be playing both Sean Penn and Madonna in the movie. Madonna commented “They are perfect, who else but them could play both me and Sean? They are the most flexible and they can sing, dance and act, they are perfect for the role.” There is no release date for the movie yet.
