Eddie Vedder Gets Stuck in Portable Toilet for 12 Hours

Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder was having a great night, but then it turned crappy real fast. Vedder found himself locked in a portable toilet where he remained for 12 hours.

Pearl Jam just completed a concert at The Enterprise Center in St Louis Missouri. Vedder joined his bandmates backstage for some post concert celebrations. Around midnight, the party broke up and the band, crew and staff left the arena.

Porta-Potty

Vedder, said goodnight to all and went to partake in his favorite activity. His post concert bowel movement. “I have been doing this since 1993” said Vedder. “It may sound strange, but I love the smell of a Porta-Potty. The isolation and filth gives me a sense of unity with the fans and keeps me grounded. Plus I do my best writing in there. I wrote all of my solo work in the toilet.”

While doing his business, Vedder somehow got his foot stuck in the toilet bowl. When trying to extricate it he tipped the entire Porta-Potty over. Eddie was hopelessly stuck as the potty landed face down. He screamed for help but to no avail. Covered in feces and that blue liquid, Eddie cried himself to sleep around dawn.

A cleaning crew heard Vedder’s cries for help around 11AM when they arrived for work. Police, Fire and Rescue were immediately called. They were able to extricate Vedder at approximately 11:45AM.

Gross

Vedder was treated at the hospital and released just in time for him to get to The Pearl Jam concert in Oklahoma. “No more Porta-Potty’s for me” laughed Eddie. “I had almost a two-hour shower, I was a mess. I was in the shower for the longest time, my housekeeper scrubbed me down with a steel brush and lysol. My hair had some toilet paper in it. I had blue water, pee water, feces all over me. I saw some needles there, rats and bugs. It was gross. Oh my gosh, It was stinking like crazy. It was awful and I’m thinking, All this dirty water on me, Am I going to get a disease? Good News is that I did write an awesome song while in there.”
