Ed Sheeran to Play Trey Anastasio in New Phish Biopic
Pop star Ed Sheeran has signed on to play Trey Anastasio in a new biopic about the band Phish. The new film will be directed by Steven Spielberg and is slated to start filming in Vermont later this month.
After years of delays, rumors and innuendos, the long awaited Phish movie has gotten the green light. The band is on board and will be given Executive Producer credits. Apparently they have no say in the casting process though.
Phish
Phish is an American rock band formed in Burlington, Vermont, in 1983. The band is known for musical improvisation, extended jams and a dedicated fan base of really high people. This dedicated Phish Phan base includes, dirty hippies, trolls, Wooks and tour rats. The band consists of guitarist Trey Anastasio and some other guys but no one knows their name.
Steven Spielberg is a big fan of the band and was stoked to direct. “I knew the first thing I needed to do was to cast Trey” said Spielberg. “Honestly, this is the least attractive band of all time. There is zero sex appeal and charisma, so I knew I had to add some to the movie. Who better than that sexy little ginger Ed Sheeran. The chicks dig him.”
Sheeran plans to do all the guitar parts himself, as well as the singing. He has been studying guitar with Trey Anastasio for 1 hour a day. “Ed has already learned an A minor chord” said Trey. “He was pretty advanced already as he knew the C, D and G major chords. Next week we will start on the Pentatonic scale.”
My Favorite Song
“I am honored to play Trey Anastasio, I love Phish” said Sheeran. “My favorite song is..um, I like the one with the really long solo in it. Did I say that I am really honored to play Trey?” Other actors cast include Patton Oswalt who will play the chubby guy in the donut dress. Will Ferrell and Jeff Goldblum will play the other guys. The movie will be out for Christmas.
