DNA Evidence Proves Van Morrison & Jim Morrison Are Brothers
Breaking News: DNA evidence reveals Van Morrison and Jim Morrison are brothers. The legendary musical gene pool runs deep. In an astonishing twist of rock ‘n’ roll fate, a recent breakthrough in the world of genetic analysis has unveiled a connection that transcends time and musical genres. Prepare your ears and minds, dear readers, as we present the groundbreaking revelation that the iconic Van Morrison and the legendary Jim Morrison are, in fact, long-lost brothers.
It all started when a High School student Rachel Tuscano was doing a report on Jim Morrison. She stumbled onto an article about Van Morrison. “I just assumed they were related. However everything I read declared they were not related at all. They both have fathers named George. It all seemed a little too coincidental.”

After some Sherlock Holmes-worthy genealogy research and a few bribes, the results came in: the Morrisons share a remarkable 99.9% genetic match! This means that not only do they share an uncanny knack for penning lyrics that burrow deep into your soul, but they also have a shared propensity for untamed hair and sunglasses so cool they can transport you back in time.
James Douglas Morrison was born December 8, 1943 and George Ivan Morrison was born August 31, 1945. How they are brothers seems to come down to father George who was in the military and traveled quite a bit. He spent time in Europe during WWII and well you can guess the rest.
One source reported that Jim found out the truth and was planning to go public when he died in Paris in 1971. His last words were “Gloria, G.L.O ri ayyy”. This of course alludes to the Van Morrison hit song, “Gloria” which was also covered by The Doors. The Doors and Van performed the song together in 1966 at the Whiskey in Los Angeles.
Jim once stated, “I got along great with Van and there was an immediate connection.” Van released a statement today, “Yes of course he is my brother, how many Morrison’s are there in the world. We were planning to record together when he passed. We started a new band called the “Flying Morrison Brothers”. Unfortunately it never came to fruition. However I am planning on recording an album with Jim like they did with Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, that will be cool.”
