Dick Van Dyke Crash Caused By Frantic Attempt to Turn Off Bon Jovi on Radio

Legendary actor Dick Van Dyke was involved in a car accident in Malibu, California. Police responded to a call of a single-car accident and when deputies arrived they found Dick behind the wheel of a Lexus LS 500 which he’d crashed into a gate.

Luckily the ancient funny man was not seriously injured. EMT Joe Dean stated that Dick was a little stiff. He had some scrapes, bruises and friction burns but nothing serious. In a shocking coincidence the accident took place at Caitlyn Jenner’s house.

“There was this loud crash” said Jenner. “I got excited when I first heard Dick was knocking down my bush. Yum, come and get it. It made more sense when I found out it was 97 year old Dick Van Dyke driving his car through my front yard.”

Sources say the 97-year-old film and TV legend told cops his car slid and he lost control before slamming into the gate. Apparently an entire block of Bon Jovi songs came on the car radio and Van Dyke frantically tried to turn off the radio station.

“I was cruising along grooving to some “Black Sabbath” said Van Dyke, “I love me some Sabbath – but then the radio malfunctioned and switched to some hair band station. I tried to turn it back but the radio was stuck. The DJ announced an entire hour dedicated to Bon Jovi and I panicked. I was banging the radio, trying to turn it off, anything I could think of. Then when ‘Living on a Prayer’ came on, I totally flipped out and was frantically trying to switch the station when I drove off the road. I really hate Bon Jovi!”

Police state drugs and alcohol were not involved. However, Viagra, Metamucil, Horny Goat Weed and Ben Gay were found in the car. The cops have submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting a driving retest for Dick, since he knew Jesus as a boy. Dick was picked up by his good friend, 100 year old Carl Reiner, so he wouldn’t have to drive home from the scene.

According to Sheriff Cesar Romero, the crash was “understandable due to the recent facts.” He told Madhouse News: “This has happened many times before. A new study was just released that Bon Jovi music is the number one cause of car wrecks. Listeners can’t turn him off fast enough. I think there should be a law against Bon Jovi songs. It’s dangerous. I even almost crashed once when one of his songs came on. I really hate that guy.”
