David Lee Roth Selling EVH Guitar Solo Trapped in Jar For $1.7Million

David Lee Roth is selling an Eddie Van Halen (EVH) guitar solo that he claims to have trapped in a jar.

Roth states “It was quite by accident. Back in those days, I used to fart in jars as a joke and then get groupies to smell them. Well anyway, I digress. I often went backstage and banged a few groupies while Eddie was doing his thing during ‘Eruption’. Let me start from the beginning.”

“So it was 1978” continues Roth. “It was out first world tour. We are opening up for Black Sabbath. It was one of the final dates. We are at the Oakland Coliseum and we just finish “Jamies Crying’. I run offstage left and Ozzy is standing there. He loves a good joke as much as anyone, so I tell him to hold the jar and I will fart into. The plan was to open it later into Tony Iommi’s face.”

Eruption

“Anyway, the jar gets forgotten and packed away in a warehouse. I found the jar in my basement this year, some 40 years later. I open it up and the stench of a 40 year old fart knocks me down. Then I realize I hear something. I hold my breath and open it up again and I hear clear as day, Eddie playing Eruption. Miraculously, I captured an EVH Guitar solo in a jar from 1978.”

“One Million Dollars is a bargain for a jar containing an Eddie Van Halen guitar jam. Plus you get a David Lee Roth fart and the fact that Ozzy held the jar. That is Rock n Roll history, right there man. It does not get better than that. I would say this is priceless and should be in a museum. But I am letting you have it for $1.7 Million!”

The jar is being auctioned off through Christy’s, with a reserve of $1.7 Million. “The thing of it is” concludes Roth. “Is that you you won’t know it exists until you buy it. But I guarantee once you own it and I cash the check, you can open the jar and get a whiff of my gas and hear Eddie playing Eruption. Be warned though, once it is out of the jar it ain’t going back in. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.”
