David Crosby’s Will Leaves Turd to Neil Young & “Gold Digging Wife”
What was in David Crosby’s Will? Well David Crosby gets the last laugh. The notoriously abrasive David Crosby left one “giant turd” to his former friend and bandmate Neil Young. He also mentioned Young’s “Gold digging wife” Daryl Hannah. The legendary musician passed to the other side in January but left something for his frenemy to remember him by.
David Crosby had a very tumultuous relationship with most of the people in his life. However, that was even more evident with his bandmates. He sang like an angel and wrote some of the greatest music ever recorded. However if you listen to his band mates, he was a huge pain in the arse. He was thrown out of The Byrds and was completely estranged from Graham Nash, Stephen Still and Neil Young.
David Crosby’s Will
Neil Young and Crosby’s relationship was forever ruined when during an interview Croz insulted Young and his wife Daryl Hannah. David called Daryl a poisonous predator, a gold digger and the reason god created middle fingers. He then wrapped up the interview by saying, “I bet Daryl brings a date to Neil’s funeral.” Young responded by calling Crosby a diseased beast and will never work with him again. Young stated, “David should write a book called, How To Get People To Never Speak To You Again. Alternately titled, How To Lose Friends and Alienate Everyone.”
In his will, Crosby left most of his fortune to family. However he did have a clause titled, Just a Turd Before I Go. Crosby declared that he wanted his final turd to go to his old friend Neil Young and his gold digging wife. Apparently Croz made a big number two before he left this world. It was freeze dried and put in a display case. There was a plaque engraved to Neil, “For All The Crap You Had To Put Up With During Our Friendship, Love David.”
Just A Turd Before I Go
While some may see this as a bizarre gesture, those familiar with the pair’s history see it as a heartfelt gesture. Was it David’s way to make amends? Or maybe it’s just a symbol of their deep connection that transcends the ordinary. Young was touched by the gesture. He said he might just turn this into a one-of-a-kind art piece, auction it off for charity, or use it to fertilize a new garden. As a wedding gift, David once donated a mason jar full of his swimmers to Neil to help get Daryl pregnant. Neil threw it in the bushes and it killed all his plants.
As bizarre as it may seem, David Crosby’s farewell gift to Neil Young reminds us all that life is too short not to embrace the weird and wonderful moments that make it truly unforgettable. Whether you’re a rock ‘n’ roll icon or just an ordinary person, leave it to David Crosby to leave a lasting impression, even if it’s a rather peculiar one!
