David Bowie Wins 9 Grammy’s To Makeup For Being Too Ahead Of His Time In 1970’s

David Bowie Wins Grammys. In a shocking move, the Recording Academy announced that all major awards at this years Grammy’s will go to David Bowie. This is a step in the right direction for the Grammy’s. It is a way for them to try to make amends for all of their past atrocities. 

Grammy head, Harvey Mason Jr. told Madhouse News, “We are retroactively awarding 9 Grammy awards to David Bowie to make up for former wrongs. It is kind of Reparations for a great artist that was never acknowledged when he was alive. Sure we awarded him a BS lifetime achievement award and all that, but we need to show respect for his amazing body of work.”

‘Ziggy Stardust’, ‘Aladdin Sane’, ‘Hunky Dory’, ‘Diamond Dogs’, ‘Young Americans’, ‘Station to Station’, ‘Lets Dance’ and ‘Heroes’ all won ‘Album of the Year’ and Bowie won ‘Best New Artist’. 

“It’s a start,” said Bowie’s widow, Iman. “It is a nice gesture, but there is a long way to go. How many suffered and endured the pain of watching bands like ‘Starland Vocal Band’ overtake Boston for Best New Artist. In 1975, Marvin Hamlisch beat Bad Company for Best New Artist and in 1979. ‘A Taste of Honey’ won over both ‘The Cars’ and Elvis Costello. These are atrocities that cannot be forgotten.”

Jethro Tull

The Grammy’s have been notorious for ignoring rock music and giving awards to sappy pop music. Of course there was the devastating embarrassment of Jethro Tull defeating Metallica for the best hard rock/metal award in 1990. 

Other artists to receive future Grammy reparations include: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, GWAR, NY Dolls, The Clash, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and many many other rock, punk and metals stars.
