The promoter, Morris “D-bag” Eiden had been eagerly awaiting this moment for months. Morris tells everyone that his friends gave him the nickname “D-bag” because it’s short for “Dimebag” who was his hero. However, we all know better. Morris had meticulously planned every detail of the event, from the stage setup to the beer selection at the bar. However, there was one detail he somehow managed to overlook: the correct spelling of the band’s name.

As Mustaine showed up at the theater for an early afternoon soundcheck he noticed the marquee. The promoter spelled the band’s name as “Mega Death” instead of “Megadeth”. An honest mistake, right? Well, not in Dave Mustaine’s world. This is one of Dave’s pet peeves and sends him into a fit of rage. 

As Mustaine noticed the banner, he froze. His eyes bulged, and his face contorted into a mix of disbelief and fury. The air in the room seemed to grow colder as Mustaine stormed over to Eiden, grabbed him by the collar of his Metallica T-shirt (yes, really), and shouted, “MegaDeath? Are you kidding me, man? It’s ‘Megadeth’ NO ‘a,’ not ‘Mega Death’ like we’re some kind of death metal boy band!”

Ok how about, once upon a time a jackass promoter got choked out for spelling Megadeth incorrectly.”

Eventually, the band and crew were able to pry Dave’s Kung-Fu grip from the man’s neck. Unfortunately Mustaine then unleashed a flurry of swift kicks to the man’s taint area. Morris was taken away and Dave and the boys put on an electrifying performance that left the audience speechless. Dave Mustaine had made his point, and the concert promoter had learned a valuable lesson in spelling.
