Marthas Vineyard – Singer Songwriter Carly Simon has finally broken her 40 year silence about the origins of her song You’re So Vain” and who it was written about. 

Rumours have swirled over the years that it was written about Mick Jagger, Warren Beatty or James Taylor among many others. Madhouse Magazine in an exclusive with Carly Simon revealed the shocking truth that the song was written about Howard Cosell ! 

Yes in a shocking turn of events, Carly confessed that she secretly dated Mr. Cosell for many years and he was the love of her life. “The time is right, I have kept this secret for 40 years, and the world needs to hear it.” exclaimed Simon.  

“Howard was a fabulous lover and an amazing man, but he was extremely Vain. One morning I awoke to find Howard standing naked in front of the mirror admiring his own buttocks. I wrote the song in 20 minutes and a little known fact, Howard played the Bass on that song. He was a talented musician as well.” gushed Simon.
