Brian Johnson & Angus Young Star in Dukes of Hazzard Reboot for Netflix
Brian Johnson and Angus Young of the band AC/DC have signed on to star in a reboot of the Dukes of Hazzard. The new series will air on Netflix and will also feature Jon Bon Jovi as Daisy Duke, Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse, Vince Neil as Boss Hogg and Tommy Lee as Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.
Dukes of Hazzard
The Original Dukes of Hazzard was an action comedy TV series that aired on CBS from 1979 to 1985. The show is about two young male cousins, Bo and Luke Duke, who live in rural Georgia and are on probation for moonshine-running. The young men and their friends and their female cousin Daisy Duke, and other family (such as patriarch Uncle Jesse), have various escapades as they evade the corrupt county commissioner Boss Hogg and law officer Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane. The young men drive a customized 1969 Dodge Charger nicknamed the General Lee, which became a symbol of the show.

Brian Johnson is the lead singer of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. Johnson is a big car collector and actually owns the original General Lee. “I love cars” said Johnson. “I also own the bat-mobile, The monkee-mobile, James Bond’s Aston Martin and the Trans-Am from Smokey and the Bandit. Unfortunately I let Angus drive the General Lee and he drove like 100 feet and crashed into a tree.”
The Dukes of Hazzard was remade into a movie in 2005 starring Johnny Knoxville and Jessica Simpson. The movie sucked a$$ big time. It was so bad that the director was arrested and charged with assault. The only redeeming part of the film was Jessica Simpson’s shorts. Plus Willie Nelson played Uncle Jesse. A role he will reprise in the new series.
General Lee
“We always loved Dukes of Hazzard” said Angus Young. “If we were on tour we would postpone the show and stop whatever we were doing in order to watch. I remember once Brian tried to be cool and recreate Bo and Luke Duke. He ran and jumped in his car through the window but he landed on the stick shift. His voice raised two octaves. Now that was entertainment.”
The new Dukes of Hazzard will still feature the Duke family but will take place in the Australian outback instead of rural Georgia. “We feature a lot of dingos, kangaroos and Wallabys” said Brian Johnson. “I have to say as disturbing as it sounds, Bon Jovi sure looks good in those Daisy Duke shorts. He looked just like a Sheila when I first saw him from the back. I had to do a lot of pushups and football watching after that.”
