Bob Dylan Releases Opera Album
Singer Songwriter and Legend Bob Dylan known for pushing the envelope, has ripped the envelope up, as he has released a new album consisting entirely of Opera classics.
Dylan’s voice is surprisingly powerful and he nails the opera vibe. He has a true knack for opera. Dylan is fluent in Italian and sings the songs completely in their native tongue.
Polovtsian Dance#2
Highlight Tracks include: “Polovtsian Dance#2” by Borodin, “La forza del destino” by Verdi, and something else by Verdi that we can’t pronounce. Dylan brings the house down when he performs “The Habanera” from Carmen. It is pure genius and brilliance in its most purest form.
Dylan’s voice has the remarkable ability to range from Baritone to Countertenor. A ‘Countertenor’ is able to sing even higher than a tenor. This voice actually falls within a female’s voice range. Through the use of a man’s falsetto voice, the voice produces a sound that is sometimes described as “otherworldly”.
Critics
Critics are loving Dylan’s new Opera album. The NY Times hailed, “A great artist innovates, and Dylan’s innovation was arguably to take opera out of the hands of snobs and elitists and give it to the ordinary people.” From the Opera Digest, “Simply put, Dylan has an incomparable voice, perfect diction, a connection to the humanity of every character he sings, and a winning personality that makes him irresistible to all who hears him.” This album is sure to turn on millions of Dylan’s fans onto Opera. Lincoln Center watch out!
Dylan told Madhouse Magazine Opera critic, Claude Balzac, “Yeah man I can sing my a$$ off.” “There are a lot of things you people don’t know about me. Wait until next year, I can also dance my a$$ off. I am planning in starring in the ballet Swan Lake. Now that is going to be a treat for you.”
