Blackberry Smoke is an American rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. While they may be from the South, I wouldn't call them Southern Rock. I would call them good old American Rock n Roll. Influenced by other American Rock bands from The South, such as "The Black Crowes" and "The Allman Brothers".

The band consists of Charlie Starr (lead vocals, guitar), Richard Turner (bass, vocals), Brit Turner (drums), Paul Jackson (guitar, vocals), and Brandon Still (keyboards).

Blackberry Smoke was formed in the early 2000's and made their bones touring everywhere and opening for acts such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Govt Mule and Zac Brown Band.

The band was actually named by Chris Robinson of "The Black Crowes". If the name has a meaning, no one is talking.

With 6 critically acclaimed albums under their belt, including the latest "Find a Light" in 2018, The band has decided to embark this year on an Acoustic tour. Known as the "Break it Down Acoustic Tour 2019!"
There is nothing like seeing a killer electric band break it down and play a beautiful intimate acoustic show. Drums and distortion cover up a lot. It is a huge risk to play an Acoustic show. It separates the men from the boys and shows what you are made of.

Blackberry Smoke is not afraid of doing an acoustic show, and they proved they got what it takes. They rolled into The Bergen PAC on Monday, April 1 with their acoustic Guitars in hand.

It was a beautiful initmate setting. The band were all seated and relaxed, with carpets and candles. It felt like I was invited down to Charlie Starr's house in Georgia for a good old fashioned jam session in his living room.

Blackberry Smoke mixed their best songs, deep tracks and choice covers to make for an incredible show.

They opened up with the knee slapping "White Freightliner Blues" and had the crowd in their hand all night. Highlights and surprises include a killer version of The Led Zep classic "Hey Hey What Can I Do". That made for a nice sing a long. Like really, who doesnt like that song.

I cried like a baby during the beautiful "Free On The Wing", which they dedicated to Gregg Allman. Gregg sang on the original song.

It was an incredible night, you can see for yourself at the set list below. The encores included the CSNY song "Almost Cut My Hair". Blackberry Smoke killed that song. I was very impressed.

American music. It don't get no better than this. Check out Blackberry Smoke and see how it's done.
