The rock legend attempted to blow out the candles on his birthday cake when his signature long beard caught fire. Gibbons panicked while pal Dave Grohl laughed and decided to video the incident instead of helping his friend. The video has now gone viral on social media garnering over 12.2 million views, with users flooding the post with varied comments and remarks.

Gibbons was celebrating his birthday with friends and family. Celebrity pals Dave Grohl, Beyonce, Alice Cooper, Joe Walsh, Kirk Hammett, Michael Anthony, Jason Aldean, Britney Spears and Johnny Depp were in attendance. They enjoyed a nice Texas BBQ dinner catered from Billy’s favorite joint, “Big Racks & Smokin’ Butts”.

After dinner the crew retired to the parlor for Cognac and cigars. Billy’s wife Gilligan then presented Gibbons with a beautiful birthday cake she made herself. Gilligan made Billy’s favorite chocolate pudding and Twinkie flavored cake. “Oh man, you ain’t lived” gushed Gibbons “Until you had Gilligan’s famous chocolate Twinkie cake. It is to die for.”

Well, he almost did. Gibbons started clowning around and acting the fool with the cake as he attempted to blow out the candles. Billy apparently got his beard too close to the candles and his beard went up like the Hindenburg. Johnny Depp mimicked the Hindenburg announcer, “Oh the Humanity”. Britney Spears began running around in a circle screaming, “Get a Fire Extinguisher” while Dave Grohl laughed and took video. Everyone else stood there with their mouths open staring in disbelief.

Alice Cooper and Gibbons wife Gilligan took the bull by the horns. They sprung into action and guided Billy into the bathroom. Alice jammed Billy’s head into the toilet while Gilligan began flushing. They worked in tandem like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. Like a beautiful synchronized swimming routine. Alice lifted and dropped Gibbons head into the water at the exact moment that Gilligan was flushing.

They were able to get the fire under control and Billy suffered no injuries. Just a bruised ego and a jacked up beard. “Man I felt like I was getting water boarded” said Gibbons. “Thank God Alice and Gilligan knew what to do. The rest of them dummies just stood and stared. I guess I am going to go into seclusion now until my beard grows back. Or maybe I will have to wear a fake beard when I go out in public.”
