Ayo Edibiri To Play All 4 Beatles & Yoko In New Biopics
Rising actress Ayo Edibiri has been signed to play all 4 Beatles in the upcoming biopics. Director Sam Mendes plans to make four separate movies, one from each Beatles member’s point of view. They will intersect to “tell the astonishing story of the greatest band in history,” leading up to their 1970 breakup, according to a press release. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of the late John Lennon and George Harrison have granted full life story and music rights for the scripted films. Ayo will star in the four films and will also portray Yoko Ono.
Ayo Edibiri is a main cast member on “The Bear”. Her role as Sydney Adamu, the ambitious young sous chef that has traveled from Milan to Minsk, has garnered her many accolades and awards. Earlier this year Disney announced Ayo would be replacing Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of The Caribbean film series. She was the natural choice then to portray all four Beatles.
Ayo Edibiri As All 4 Beatles in Biopics
Mendes originally wanted young unknown British actors to portray the four lads from Liverpool but was over ruled by the powers that be. “Yes, the studio basically rammed her down my throat” said Mendes. “However after some quiet reflection and reeducation, I have come to see they are right. Aya is a lovely young girl and it does make sense to have a woman of color portray The Beatles. Hopefully my films will be as good as 1978s ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ movie.”
Ayo will play Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr in the four separate biopics. In addition, the actress will show her skills and portray Yoko Ono, Linda McCartney, Billy Preston and manager Brian Epstein. “I am very excited” said Ayo. “Basically this is going to be a one woman show for me. With the use of technology and AI, I can play every part. We don’t need anyone else.”
Pete Best
Mendes also revealed that a Pete Best film is also scheduled. Sam stated, “I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies. Pete was a big part of The Beatles and we are going to tell his story. Finally I am hoping to get that guy that played McLovin to star as Best.”
The Beatles biopics will all be released on Christmas Day 2034. There will be an all day film festival where fans can watch all films simultaneously on a 4 part screen. As a special bonus Peter Jackson will make a 19 hour documentary on the making of the Beatles biopics. He will then make a documentary about his own documentary. Stay tuned for details.
