Andy Cohen Reaches Agreement to Purchase the NY Mets
Bravo TV executive and the brains behind the “Real Housewives” franchise, Andy Cohen has reached an agreement Monday to purchase the majority ownership of the New York Mets from the Wilpon and Katz families.
The sale is subject to the approval of the Major League Baseball club owners. At least 23 of the 30 owners will need to approve the transaction, which was announced by the club via an afternoon news release. Once that hurdle is cleared, Cohen will assume full control of the franchise.
“The Mets are a great organization, and I feel honored to own the team” said Cohen. “I do plan on surrounding myself with great sports minds. Anderson Cooper will be my GM and Lady Ga Ga will design the new team uniforms.”
Cohen stated that his goal is to win a championship for New York. “I am a hands on owner, and The Mets have sucked for a really long time. I plan on winning it all. Plus I will be spending a lot of time in the locker room. Yum.”
Some changes Cohen plans to implement are: There will be reunion shows at the end of each season, the team will travel together to exotic locations and producers will get the players drunk and then create a lot of drama.
“It’s basically going to be The Real Housewives of Queens” giggled Cohen. “But instead of menopausal drunken ladies fighting, we will have hunky guys in tight uniforms playing baseball.”
