Adam Sandler to Play Barbra Streisand in New Biopic
Adam Sandler has signed on to portray the legendary Barbra Streisand in a new biopic. The news broke when Sandler and Streisand both posted a video on X of themselves singing a duet on “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers Anymore”. The song was originally recorded by Streisand and Neil Diamond.
The movie has already begun filming and will be released in time for Chanukah. Take heed that the film will not be your average run of the mill biopic. It will be a comedic slapstick romp through Barbra Streisand’s life. In other words, think Happy Gilmore meets Barbra.
Adam Sandler is Barbra Streisand
Sandler will do all of his own singing in the film. Adam has a multi octave voice as evident from his many hits that include, “The Chanukah Song” Parts I-IV, “The Thanksgiving Song” “The Lunch Lady” and “Fatty McGee”.
When asked if he was a big Barbra Streisand fan, Sandler replied, “No I am straight. I was never a fan of her movies either. Yentl WTF was that? Not to mention The Way We Were, that movie is a science fiction movie. You are way out there if you think Robert Redford would ever fall for Barbra. Redford is a beautiful man and Babs has a face that not even a Mother could love.”
Sandler continued, “When we started filming, we realized that I was too pretty to play Barbra. We had to ugly me up a bit. You know frizz up the hair some more and put on a prosthetic nose. The voice however came easy. Did you know I was born in Brooklyn just like Streisand.
All of Sandler’s buddies will be appearing in the biopic as well. Rob Schneider will play Neil Diamond. David Spade portrays Robert Redford and Steve Buscemi as Elliot Gould. Nick Swardson will play Ryan ONeal.
